Bush, Kerry, and IMN Reporting
In an article in the last issue of Informed Marketer News, we used the blogs of both George Bush and John Kerry to showcase how blogs are being used throughout the business and consumer world. By using IMN’s reporting and analysis system, we are now able to share with you some very interesting statistics from that article. Could these numbers perhaps be a forecast of who might win the election? While we’re merely sharing these with you as an example of how much you can learn from our reporting system, it will be interesting to see how the analytics below compare with the results of the November election! Stay tuned!
- First of all, to no one’s surprise since this is an election year, the Bush, Kerry and Blogging article is one of our most popular articles, with approximately 33% more clicks than anything else we’ve published so far this year!
- Of both blogs, the link to Bush’s blog received 32% more hits overall than the Kerry blog did. Now what does that tell us? We’ll let you draw your own conclusions on this statistic!
- One might wonder at this point, who was clicking on what and did the same people go to both blogs. While we won’t mention any names, we do know that:
- Of the total number of our subscribers who visited either blog, 26% of those visited the blogs of both Bush and Kerry.
- 63% of the visitors to the Bush blog visited only that site…while 52% of those that went to the Kerry blog visited only that site.
- 9% of our subscribers went to Bush’s blog more than once and 6% were repeat visitors to the Kerry site.
The point here is not to use these numbers as a prediction of what is going to happen in the November election, but to show you some examples of intelligence that IMN’s reporting and analysis system can provide you from one single article. Imagine what this system can tell you about your subscribers!
